Got a lot out of the last test - especially the nutritional information. You clarified a lot of things i'd been unsure of. Been really careful to take on enough energy (on and off the bike) over the last few days and it's noticably improved my recovery.
The improvements i saw have been a big motivator too - I didn't expect to see such a difference in 3 months! It's really good to know that training so specifically is paying off!
Many Thanks,
ANDY GOTT, Yorks
...using the HR levels you gave me training went really well as I won the first 2 races. The first one I beat 4 of the world MTB team just off to the World champs that week! All at the age of 40 as I turned Vet this year.
Many thanks,
ADRIAN TIMMIS (Former GB Olympic and Professional rider, now riding for GB again at the age of 40!)
Hi Garry
Just to let you know how the weeks gone. Yet again i knocked 1min 20 secs off my 10 mile TT personal. Not sure how much more i can improve but its coming down in large chunks. Think thats over 2 1/2mins in 3 weeks.
Will put tri bars on next week!!!!!!!!!
Also finding my weekly training rides are averaging 2mph quicker as well. Keeping same heart rate through out.
Cheers
RICHARD GODDARD, Staffs (At his re-test, RG had also lost 2kg, dropped 2.5% body fat, increased threshold, max power, and power to weight ratio, not too bad as he is only able to train 5-6 hours per week!!)
Without the visit to you, I wouldnt have the lost the stone in weight
which helped me dance up Clee Hill!
5 races so far, a win, a 3rd, 4th and 6th

Thanks very much for the training plan and advice on bike set up, it all helped immensely.

Thought I would let you know of my progress thus far. I have done 3 club 10m TT's in the last 6 weeks, times going from 26.27 to 25.52 to 25.51 last week. Weight down from 78kg to 74.5kg this week. Now looking forward to the 10/25 TT champs in a few weeks - my recovery is much much better too. Thanks for all the advice etc.

KIM HURST- 2nd in British Rankings!! Well done Kim World Cup round 4: Fort William

The interval training I was cursing Garry for in the winter really paid off, Fort William is a notoriously tough circuit with 1,200m of total ascent in just 4 laps and I was able to keep my climbing together throughout.
And the win was at Scottish XC Series round 2 - Fort William.
but the strength I had gained from my threshold interval training in the Spring meant I was able to make my decisive move on the last climb and broke away to claim the win.
